Arizona Cardinals Tickets – Cards Undergoing a change of identity
The Arizona Cardinals have won the NFC West title each one of the last two seasons, largely due to attack high-flying passing team boasted that under the leadership of quarterback Kurt Warner. Leinart is not the prolific passer, a volume that was Warner and Whisenhunt knows. The left-hander is probably better suited as game manager, for lack of a better term, which tries to limit its mistakes and complete a high percentage of short passes to move the chains. Leinart To succeed, probably going to need much support from the running game. The running back Beanie Wells produced cards in 2009 with the hope that it could become a franchise broker. Wells looked very good, at times during his rookie season, but was unable to win the starting job to Tim Hightower, due to his struggles as a receiver and in blitz pickup. Wells, seems to improve in those areas, however, and could be in line for a campaign break in 2010. If he is able to set the tone on the floor, Leinart could have a solid season from the center.
The other side of the coin is that the Cardinals have to play well defensively to try to take the crown in the NFC West this season. There have been a great defensive team in recent years, but definitely made some progress from 2008 to 2009. Darnell Dockett is a force up front, and the pressure in the line of creation is one of the most important aspects of the defense in the NFL. The team also got a steal in the draft, defensive tackle Dan Williams. The first Volunteer should be able to get away and play nose tackle in the 3-4 scheme the team. The cards also have two big plays in time the secondary safety Adrian Wilson and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Rodgers-Cromartie is probably a bit overrated, is developing into a nice corner with good ball skills. The biggest weakness of the defense of Arizona seems to be the linebacking corps. Karlos Dansby's departure will hurt a lot and I'm not sure that will be able to do a great job against the run in 2010 without him.
It will be interesting to see how well Time will identity the Cardinals in the first year of the process. It is likely to be a rough transition at times, especially with minimum experience of Leinart in the NFL, but I think it is the right decision long term for the franchise. With the Niners and the Seahawks apparently increasing in the NFC West, however, it could mean giving up the crown of the division for a season or two.
